Private Lessons

Private lessons are a wonderful way to get customized 1-on-1 instruction for a multitude of different needs you may have with your dog. These lessons will allow you to work on the specific behaviours that you want or need and get immediate feedback while working with your dog to ensure you are doing the exercises correctly.

After the Initial Private Lesson, there are TWO types of lesson choices:

1. Lessons with custom follow-up email to recap the lesson and guide you through how to work on the new skills & behaviours covered at the lesson (including homework handouts/videos if applicable). These lessons are generally for learning new skills/behaviours or if you find it helpful to have written notes to guide you and are usually completed in your home.
2. Lessons without follow-up email or recap. These lessons are for those that have already learned the skill/behaviour and are wanting to work further with the trainer's guidance but do not need/want follow-up notes or homework to follow. These lessons can take place in/around your home or if you're feeling ready they can take place in a public place to practice in the real world with your trainer there to continue guiding you and giving feedback, tips & tricks.

In most cases more than one lesson will be required to ensure proper progress is being made. This could include taking your learned behaviours to harder, more distracting, places while having your trainer there to assist. It is recommended to have your lessons 10 to 14 days apart.

Private lessons are a great option for:

• Puppy start right - begin training your new puppy as soon as you have them. The first lesson can even be done BEFORE getting your puppy. Covers topics such as puppy socializing, body language, potty training, crate/mat training, puppy biting, jumping up along with basic manners topics below.
• Basic manners - sit, down, stay (release word), impulse control, release word etc.
• Demanding/Begging
• Counter Surfing / Stealing Items
• Crates or Confinement 
• Leash skills
• Recall 
• Leash Reactivity/Over-arousal
• Cooperative Care for Vet or Grooming
• Confidence Building
