Cooperative Care 101

60 min Group class once a week for 8 weeks

In-Person - $360 plus gst. In-Person Class Location: TBD

Virtual  - $240 plus gst Virtual classes held via Google Meets

Prerequisites:

In-Person classes: Completion of a Group class (with us or another positive reinforcement trainer) and the ability to work in a group setting. Must have an established marker word. 

Virtual Classes: Must have an established marker word.

What is Cooperative Care?

This Positive Reinforcement based training approach works on allowing your dog to be an active participant in their care and handling. By taking your time and moving at your dog’s pace, you can reduce stress, build a stronger relationship and increase the safety of these experiences. 

In this class you will learn:

• Handling Positions
• ‘Start Buttons’
• How to Desensitize or Counter-Condition touch (ears, paws etc) items (brush, nail clippers etc.)
• Muzzle introductions (a skill ALL dogs should have)
• Read your dog’s body language and communication
• Learn different handling techniques your dog may one day have to encounter

This 8 week long class will give you the knowledge and skills to teach and continue working on your Cooperative Care journey with your dog! This takes time, patience and consistency!

In-Person classes are not suitable for dogs that bark at other people and/or dogs on leash, including overexcited and fearful barking dogs, please start with a private lesson to set you up for the best success in a group class environment or check out out Virtual or Private Cooperative Care 101 Class
